I am going to divide up this journal so you can read the parts you want and avoid the stuff you don't care about.
By the way, my website has been updated a lot. I have TONS of peacock feathers for sale so check those out on my for sale page. I still need to get more feather photos, but I am selling feathers right now: www.BambooPeacock.com
UPA forum Moderator!
Hi I am really excited because I will be a moderator at the United Peafowl Association Forum. A person I know from Backyard Chickens wanted me to help with the forum and so I have lots of neat ideas to hopefully boost activity and get more members on the forum. I am not starting all of my forum projects just yet because they might move the forum to a new domain and we might change the look of the forum.Copywrite!!!
Also I found a peafowl illustration I have on my website being used by someone else to promote something with their peafowl. They were very kind and removed it from their page so I am not mad at them. What I am mad at is people who create graphics the lazy way thinking it is a good idea to use other people's work or photos without credit to create graphics. That is what I am a bit annoyed at. What is super annoying is when some people use other people's peafowl photos to sell their own birds! Why can't they take pictures of their actual birds??!! Seriously you can take photos with your phone if you don't have a camera!!! You can also get a friend to photograph your birds but for heaven's sake don't take well known breeder's photos of their own birds to promote your birds.Green Peafowl
My obsession continues...But really just this week I found someone promoting spalding peacocks as Rare Java greens. I even saw a zoo page promoting spalding birds as Javas.
Why is this bad news? Green peafowl are endangered and if zoos and peafowl breeders don't know what a real green peafowl looks like, what hope is their for the species? There are people who know the difference between spaldings and green peafowl which is good, but I hope that new peafowl fanciers will educate themselves. If you plan on breeding spaldings, do it responsibly marketing them as SPALDINGS not as Javas, green peafowl, etc. If you are wanting to breed green peafowl, reference photos of wild green peafowl for the best idea of what you are looking for.
Finally for a new idea that I had...If you did not know, the down arrow at the upper left of DeviantART has two buttons that I like to click sometimes. They are: Random Deviant and Random Deviation. For this journal entry, I have clicked on Random Deviant.
The Random Deviant that came up is TheFicDoctor! What a cool name!
I myself enjoy some Dr. Who and my boyfriend especially loves Dr. Who and dresses up like the 11th Doctor.
a visit! theficdoctor.deviantart.com/
Get yourself a cup of coffee and sit down to read some of TheFicDoctor's work. I am not much of a reader, but I read some of his stuff and I like the wording. It really paints a picture for me of what I am reading.
Alright well everyone that is off of school enjoy the rest of your time off. I am not looking forward to going back to college in about a month. :/
